The French flag was actually plain white before it became the tricolore flag people see today. The blue and red sections represent Paris, the country's capital. The white section represents the King.
The flag's motto is "Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité"
There are currently 13 regions in France, but it used to be broken into 22 regions. This was done to make the regions larger and be more similar to the Eurpoean Union.
Paris: The City of Love
There are approximately 450 parks and gardens that are spread across the city. This makes it the perfect place for a romantic date or just a casual stroll with friends. Paris holds a lot of historical importance to French history because it is the place they celebrate the Enlightenment period, which is why it is also named "the City of Light".
